The former Nigeria U-23 striker is a man in demand after scoring 22 goals and registering seven assists in all competitions for Almeria last season.
Brighton, Sevilla, Valencia, Spartak Moscow, Eintracht Frankfurt and Getafe have all been reportedly mentioned as likely destinations for the Nigerian International.
According to Diario AS via Sport_Witness, the premier league champions have ‘set their sights’ on the 24-year-old Almería striker, with his club demanding €30M.Embed from Getty Images
The report claims Manchester City’s plan would be to sign him now and loan him out to French partners Troyes for one year before having him in the Premier League squad for the 2022/23 season.
The former Roma and Partizan Belgrade man has a release clause of €60 millions and it is claimed that Almeria are in no hurry to sell their prized jewel as they expect more glamorous teams to make an offer after the 2020 European Championship and Copa America.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
