Manchester City have lost their bid to keep details of the Premier League investigation into allegations of financial fair play breaches secret.
The Blues have been under scrutiny by the league since the “Football Leaks” claims that they had subverted the financial fair play rules of both Uefa and the League, appeared in German newspaper Der Spiegel .
Uefa’s own case progressed rapidly, with several leaks to the media, until their club financial control body issued a two-year ban, after finding City guilty of breaches.
That was appealed by City to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and the ban was overturned for lack of evidence, over a year ago.
But the League’s own investigation continued, despite speculation that Uefa’s defeat might have led them to quietly abandon it.
Mrs Justice Moulder oversaw a private High Court hearing earlier this year after Premier League bosses began an investigation following allegations that Uefa’s financial fair play regulations had been breached.
She concluded that two rulings she made should be published.
Lawyers representing City disagreed and challenged her decision in the Court of Appeal.
But three appeal judges have dismissed City’s challenge.
Sir Geoffrey Vos, Sir Julian Flaux and Lord Justice Males have outlined detail of the case in a Court of Appeal ruling published online.
In reaction to the news shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, Many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
Wtf does this mean? Are we relegated? What’s happening? Are we facing Wigan again? TELL ME
