Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Ederson is in line for a new three-year contract extension at the Etihad.
Ederson has been a mainstay in Manchester City’s backline since his arrival from Benfica in 2017.
Still just 27 years old, the transfer at the time raised a few eyebrows, with the 35 million pound fee deemed excessive. However, time and time again Ederson has proved his value to the Citizens, both with his range of passing and his shot stopping abilities.
The Brazilian has been crucial in Pep Guardiola’s aim to play Tiki-Taka football which has turned out brilliantly.
His current contract, signed a year after his arrival in Manchester, will see him remain at the club until 2025.
Despite this, however, Manchester City are reportedly ready to offer Ederson yet another new deal.
According to Sam Lee, Manchester City correspondent at The Athletic, the goalkeeper is in line for a new three year deal, which would keep him in sky blue until 2028.
Ederson is not the only man set to be offered a new deal this summer, with Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, John Stones and Phil Foden also all in line for new contracts at the Etihad according to the report.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
