Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on twitter, which relayed a report that claims the club is looking to raise around £12 million through the sale of in-demand Serbian midfielder, Ivan Ilic.

The young midfielder has been impressing in Serie A since joining the club on loan last summer, and has broken into the starting line-up at Hellas Verona.

After a decent spell at Dutch side NAC Breda, in which he scored four in 24 from midfield, Ivan Ilic has been followed by a good spell in Italy, making 29 league appearances for a team that finished 10th in Serie A.

Hellas Verona are keen on signing the midfielder on a permanent basis after the 23-year-old impressed last season on loan.

According to Simon Bajkowski of Manchester Evening News, Manchester City are looking for a fee in the region of £12 million for the 20-year-old – and given how Ilic established himself last season, this does not seem implausible.

A sale of Ivan Ilic for £12M would take Man City’s overall income from player sales/sell-on clauses to around £62.5M for the summer.

The Blues have already pocketed eight-figure sums for Jack Harrison (£15m, Leeds) and Lukas Nmecha (£11m, Wolfsburg) and are set to bank a figure similar to the Nmecha money when Jadon Sancho is confirmed as a United player owing to a sell-on clause inserted into the deal with Dortmund back in 2017.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
