‘It’s actually happening’, ‘feels good’ – Fans reacts as Man City in ‘advanced stage’ to sign Euro 2020 star

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Jack Grealish transfer to the Etihad this summer has ‘reached an advanced stage’.

The Premier League champions have been chasing the Aston Villa skipper for the majority of the summer as they aim to defend the Premier League title and also impress again in Europe next season.

The 25-year-old, who only signed a new five-year deal with the club in September, has aspirations of playing in the Champions League and it is thought he is keen to step up to the next level sooner rather than later.

Recent reports have stated that the premier league club value their talisman at £100 million, however, some around the club believe that a bid in the range of £90 million could be accepted.

Aston Villa continue to stand firm on a £100 million valuation of their prized asset, and there is also an understanding in various quarters that they would be willing to discuss fresh contract talks with the player in order to keep him away from the grasps of the Premier League champions.

It appears as though he’s set to be provided with a much-deserved opportunity to step up a level.

According to the Athletic, Pep Guardiola’s side are at an ‘advanced stage’ with the Midlands club for the signing of the England international, with an agreement done over what the fee would be.

The fee would likely be a Premier League record and Aston Villa have already moved to bring in Emi Buendia in case of Grealish’s departure.

The report claims Pep Guardiola wants to team up Jack Grealish & Kevin De Bruyne in the midfield, so he will be Ilkay Gündogan’s direct competitor, if/when the Englishman is here.

The 25-year-old excelled for Aston Villa last season, with seven goals and 12 assists in all competitions, and also made his mark at Euro 2020 during England’s run to the final.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
