Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Jack Grealish is expected to undergo medical early next week.
The Cityzens are determined to sign Grealish from Aston Villa this summer and the latest reports suggest a deal could be concluded in a matter of days.
It was reported yesterday that Villa had received a Premier League record £100m bid for Grealish as the league champions look to test Villa’s resolve.
While Villa are yet to formally respond to City’s offer, Sky Sports say they are now willing to allow their fan-favourite and academy talent to leave.
According to the Telegraph, Grealish is now ‘expected to undergo a medical early next week’ in a development that club owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens would have been dreading.
Grealish Move to the Etihad Stadium would be the biggest transfer in English football history. It would eclipse Paul Pogba’s £89.6m move as British transfer record
Grealish signed an extended five-year deal at his boyhood club in September. While many thought this might fend off any serious interest in him, Pep Guardiola is believed to be a huge admirer and views him as an important addition to his squad which could finally help them to Champions League glory.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
