Manchester City and Spain winger Ferran Torres has been speaking this week to Spanish press, and discussed recent reports surrounding Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann.

The Premier League champions are in the market for a forward and have been linked with a move for the 30 year-old French international forward as Barcelona look to offload him.

The Blaugrana are under pressure to offload some big earners in order to comply with La Liga salary caps and register their new arrivals, which has led to a host of speculation surrounding Griezmann’s future.

City are still thought to be plotting a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, but a swoop for him has been mooted if they are priced out of a deal for the England captain.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Manchester City forward Ferran Torres opened up on the possibility of Barcelona superstar Antoine Griezmann signing for the club this summer.

“We know the magnitude that Griezmann has, the type of player he is. Obviously he is at Barça, he has a contract at Barça and we’ll see what can happen. City are one of the best teams in the world and they are willing to have the best players to be able to win it all. If he comes, fine and if not, we are going to continue working,” he said.

“We know that Messi is one of the best in history, not to mention the best, I think he will continue at Barça but if he decides to go out, let him decide what is best for him and his family.”

These Ferran’s comments on Griezmann has prompt plenty of Sky Blues to react on social media.
