Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is keen on signing Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White.
White is one of several Brighton players who have been linked with moves away this summer, with his future the big topics of debate in the summer transfer window while he is away with England.
The 23-year-old defender is wanted by Arsenal, with the Gunners looking to strengthen this summer after missing out on European football for the first time in 25 years.
According to journalist Duncan Castles on the Transfer Window Podcast, the Premier League champions could look to make a late bid to try and sign White as they look for defensive options this summer, with the future of Aymeric Laporte currently uncertain.
Man City have already lost Eric Garcia on a free transfer to Barca. White could now be signed to bolster Pep Guardiola‘s options ahead of their Premier League title defence.
White would compete with John Stones, Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake for a place in the starting lineup, should Laporte be sold.
However, White has attracted interest from Arsenal. Reports have claimed that the Gunners were closing in on a move for the 23-year-old defender. Any more for the star would cost around £55m.
White became a top player at the Amex in 2020/21. He featured in 36 of their Premier League games and formed a solid defensive partnership with Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, Many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

We need Laporte to stay. One big injury to Dias or Stones and we’ll drop hugely in class without him. Should use him at left back a lot to keep him involved. Alas, I think he’ll go and we’ll get Ramos, who is ancient and hasn’t played for ages due to injury.
