Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is expected to make an opening offer of around £75M plus add-ons for Jack Grealish.

The Premier League champions have been chasing the Aston Villa skipper for the majority of the summer as they aim to defend the Premier League title and also impress again in Europe next season.

The 25-year-old, who only signed a new five-year deal with the club in September, has aspirations of playing in the Champions League and it is thought he is keen to step up to the next level sooner rather than later.

Recent reports have stated that the premier league club value their talisman at £100 million, however, some around the club believe that a bid in the range of £90 million could be accepted.

Aston Villa continue to stand firm on a £100 million valuation of their prized asset, and there is also an understanding in various quarters that they would be willing to discuss fresh contract talks with the player in order to keep him away from the grasps of the Premier League champions.

With the attacker due to return from holiday later this week, the picture surrounding Grealish’s future is expected to evolve over the coming days.

According to Simon Jones for the Daily Mail, the premier league champions are expected to make an opening offer of around £75M plus add-ons for the Aston Villa mildfielder.

The report claims Man City are ‘determined to press’ for the player long admired by Guardiola hoping an agreement can be reached ‘swiftly’.

Villa have no desire to sell their 25-year-old talisman unless a British record £100m valuation is met and will offer him a bumper new contract worth more than £150,000 a week in an effort to convince him to stay, the report adds.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
