Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Sergio Aguero wants to leave Barcelona this summer after feeling betrayed by the club.

The 33-year-old, who happens to be one of Messi’s closest friends, made the move to Nou Camp after leaving the Etihad as a free agent this summer and was set to link up with his long-time friend.

It has been previously reported that the striker, who won the Copa America 2021 with the former Barca captain earlier this summer, had agreed to take a large pay cut in order to join the Catalans and play with Messi.

The Manchester City’s all-time leading goalscorer even admitted as much when he was officially unveiled as a Barcelona player, insisting that Messi’s presence at the club played a big part in his decision to join the Catalans.

His’s arrival was also claimed to have played a crucial role in Messi agreeing a new deal with Barcelona.

But that will not materialise after all as Messi is now on the lookout for a new club as Barca have been unable to comply with La Liga’s financial fair play rules.

While the Argentine had been a free agent for over a month now, it was always expected that he would be re-signing with Barcelona. But, as shocking as it seems, it will not be happening, the club confirmed late on Thursday evening.

TNT Sports Argentina via RouteOneFootball had claimed the former Man City striker have been left devastated by the development and is ‘very angry’ at the fact he won’t star alongside Messi next season.

Acccording to Catalonian outlet Beteve (via La Porteria), Sergio Aguero is “angry” with FC Barcelona for not renewing the contract of Messi and could try and force a way out of the Catalan club.

Sergio Aguero has however denied claims of wanting to leave Barcelona just two months after joining the club as a free agent, a report from Spain has revealed.

TyC Sports’ Gastón Edul has since rebuffed the claims, stating that the player remains committed to seeing out his two-year contract at Barcelona.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
