‘Would love this’, ‘We are so unserious’ – Fans reacts to Man City’s respond to Cristiano Ronaldo transfer offer

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club remain focused on landing Harry Kane despite being offered Cristiano Ronaldo for just £25m.

The Juventus superstar’s future has been the subject of intense scrutiny for many months as he has entered the final 12 months of his contract in Turin.

City are in the market for a new striker this summer with their priority remaining Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane but the club are prepared to walkaway from the deal if Spurs do not lower their asking price.

Pep Guardiola’s wish to sign a new striker is likely to have been accelerated by a disappointing attacking performance in the club’s opening Premier League game.

Guardiola’s side were surprisingly beaten 1-0 by Kane’s Spurs, with the premier league champions having just four shots on target on Sunday.

Reports of the 36-year-old’s availability in Italy on Tuesday, with Man City said to have been offered the chance to re-sign the Portugal star.

According to Chris Wheeler for The Daily Mail, Manchester City have indeed been offered Cristiano Ronaldo – but insist Harry Kane remains their top transfer target.

Although City have not shut the door on Ronaldo, the Premier League champions have made Kane their main target and will continue to pursue the Tottenham striker before the August 31 transfer deadline.

City are ready to make an improved bid for Kane in the coming days, but are unwilling to meet Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s £150m valuation of the prolific striker.

City could still end up making a late move for the Portugal icon if they fail in their pursuit of Kane. Nevertheless, a likely stumbling block is Ronaldo’s association with Manchester United, a club which he represented between 2003 and 2009.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
