A lot of Manchester City supporters have been reacting on social media as the premier league this week unveiled their third kit to the world.
For the first time, the Puma 21-22 third uniforms feature a single streamlined template and style across all of them. Multiple clubs around Europe will be wearing similar shirts. With Puma this week also announcing that sides like AC Milan, Marseille and Valencia will have the same minimalist design.
The Premier League champions made the announcement on their official Twitter account revealing their third kit for the 2021/22 season, with a host of players such as new £100million signing Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne donning the dark blue top.
The third kit creates a new expression of the Club’s identity on the front of the jersey by reimagining the traditional football kit in a brand-new approach merging football and streetwear culture.
The description of the kit on City’s website reads: “Manchester City is known for both its sport and its culture. This is exactly what this season’s third jersey celebrates.”
The kit has ‘Man City’ emblazoned in huge letters across the front, with sponsor ‘Etihad Airways’ in a smaller font underneath.
And Man City fans on social media have torn it to shreds on social media.
This is the worst City kit I have ever seen. Is this a joke?….please say its a joke. I feel sorry for Phil having to model it.

Absolutely shocking kit!!! I really hope no one buys it!! No badge 🤢🤢🤢

The worst kit ever made. For any club. Awful. The first shirt in 18 years I won’t buy. It doesn’t just lack the badge, it doesn’t even have the actual club name on the front. A dismal kit for the failed Super League. I thought you were listening to the fans after that debacle

Didn’t get enough of Man City fans slamming this Kit?
Fans of other clubs from every corner of the globe also took to social media to criticise the designs for some of Europe’s most historic sides.
Manchester United’s grey kit of 1995 breathes a huge sigh of relief as it is replaced as the worst shirt in the city’s history https://t.co/3M3HhGEAKK

I've also seen some really strong takes on what the shirts do well, and what they don't do well. Keep it coming guys. pic.twitter.com/mxvcwmSUrs
