England captain Harry Kane has not shown up for pre-season training for Tottenham in a bid to force through a summer move away.
Kane, who has been heavily linked with a move to the Etihad, has publically cried out for a move since the end of last season, where despite his heroics Tottenham could only finish a lowly seventh place in the Premier League.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has little intention of selling his star man and has immediately slapped a £100million-plus price tag on the forward’s head in a bid to ward off Manchester City.
The tactic appeared to have been working with Man City cooling their interest in Kane and stepping up their pursuit of Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish instead.
However, Kane seems to have decided to take matters in to his own hands by sensationally not showing for training in a major blow to Tottenham.
The England captain was due to return to Tottenham’s pre-season training on Monday, after a short holiday following the Euros. However, it has now been reported that Kane has not shown up.
According to Sky Sports, the England International has failed to show up for Tottenham training as the controversy surrounding his future rages on.
The reason for Kane’s absence is unknown, though it is clear that it could have something to do in regards to his future.
But as per Fabrizio Romano, Kane not turning up to Tottenham training is his choice, and not related to a Covid test. He believes he has a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with the club to leave Spurs this summer.
Daniel Levy now has an even tougher job on his hands as Kane, who still has three years left to run on his current deal, may have made his feelings clear by skipping his first day of pre-season.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
