Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is leading Manchester United in the race for highly-rated Metz midfielder Pepe Matar Sarr.
The 18-year-old midfielder has established himself in the Metz and has been attracting the prying eyes of several clubs in Europe.
The Senegal international is being closely followed by several scouts and he has also been linked with a move to Man City and Man United, while Chelsea are also thought to be keen on a summer deal.
According to reliable journalist Jonathan Shrager on Twitter, Manchester City look set to beat Manchester United to the signing of talented young Ligue 1 starlet.
Metz are aware of the quality they have in the form of Sarr and have set a steep asking price for the midfielder, who has made 27 appearances for the French side, scoring four goals in the process.
The French club want around €40m, who has a contract with his Ligue 1 side until June 2025, before they can agree to sell the youngster this summer.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
