Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Barcelona are interested in signing Raheem Sterling on loan during the winter transfer window.
The 26-year-old was linked with the Blaugrana earlier this summer. A swap deal was speculated with Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto among players mentioned.
Sterling has improved immeasurably since making the move from Liverpool to City in 2015. He has scored 73 league goals in just 168 league games under the Spaniard.
However, his form dipped in the 2020/21 campaign, and he faces added competition for places following the arrival of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in the summer.
According to Sport, Barcelona are negotiating a move for the winger – with reports suggesting that Barca’s football director Mateu Alemany has begun talks with City over the potential signing.
The report claims Barca attempted to land Sterling on loan in the summer, and state that he would be happy to reunite with former City team-mate Sergio Aguero at the Spanish giants.
The report however states that Much will depend on the next few months and whether Sterling can reclaim his starting berth with the north-west outfit.
The Three Lions ace is under contract with City until the summer of 2023. There have been rumours of talks taking place but no positive outcome to report.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

They want to loan him first year and free for next year. City need to extend his contract. His value is about 90M.
