Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola is ‘crazy’ about Theo Hernandez and has ‘followed the left-back for at least two years.
The 23-year-old French defender, who is also the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain, still has three years left for his AC Milan contract to run out.
With Benjamin Mendy currently suspended by the club, Oleksandr Zinchenko is City’s only recognisable left-back at present, though Pep Guardiola has been able to call upon Joao Cancelo to operate in that role.
It is believed the Blues are actively looking at options to bolster the left side of the defence, and currently, it appears Hernandez is near the top of the list.
According to Calciomercato, Guardiola is keen to recruit a new left-back and is believed to be ‘crazy’ about Hernandez, who he has ‘followed for at least two years’, admiring the 23-year-old’s growth in all aspects of his game.
However, the report adds that Hernandez is content at Milan and is not actively angling for a transfer away from the Serie A side yet. And Milan are planning to triple his €1.5M salary by offering him a new contract, and want to retain him for ‘many more years’.
The report claims Only a ‘truly indecent offer’ of €65-70M+ (£55.5m-60m) would make Milan ‘falter’.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

Get him in January then

This means next summer we’d get him before we sign a striker 💯

Pay this, Theo is spectacular, he is like a young left-handed Walker, great speed, physically strong, good passing, and he adds that he finishes the plays in the rival area very well, he is among the 3 best left backs in the world

He’d be a great signing but tbh zinchenkov is doing a fantastic job as a left back i don’t think we honestly need him. We should focus on a striker haland or jovic or felix and a cdm rice or Zakaria

It would not be a surprise to see the club target Hernandez in upcoming transfer windows, and he looks to be one of the best options available after City missed out on signing Nuno Mendes from Sporting Lisbon on deadline day.
