Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Benfica forward Darwin Nunez.
The 22-year-old Uruguay international was linked with a move to the Etihad as Harry Kane alternative as City were in the market for a prolific striker across the course of the summer transfer window.
City may have spent big on Jack Grealish this summer, but remain keen on attacking talent, with a new striker set to be a priority.
According to Todo Fichajes, one option under consideration by the Premier League champions is Benfica forward Darwin Nunez.
The report notes that Man City will look to part ways with Bernardo Silva, with Nunez being lined up to take his spot in the squad at some point over the next two transfer windows.
The report claim that Nunez would be sold if City made an offer in the region of €50m [£43m], which is well within their capabilities if they were willing to pay that sort of figure.
Nunez had 14 assists and 12 assists in 44 games across all competitions last season for Benfica. This season, Nunez has not tallied any goals or assists in two games so far.
It is not the most impressive output, but the young forward has the qualities to be a successful number nine.
