Some Manchester City fans are pleased with the refereeing appointment for their side’s Champions league clash with Paris Saint-Germain this week.
The Manchester powerhouse began their Champions League adventure vs RB Leipzig on the 15th of September at the Etihad, coming out on top in that game, playing out a simply staggering nine-goal thriller, which the Sky Blues won 6-3.
Now, the Citizens need to turn their attention towards their 2nd Champions League match of the season, with Pep Guardiola’s side set to face off with PSG at the Parc des Princes this coming Tuesday, in what is, on paper, Man City’s toughest test of the 2021/22 group stage.
Ahead of the game, UEFA have announced the match officials which will be in charge of proceedings at the Parc des Princes.
Carlos del Cerro Grande has been appointed as referee for Tuesday’s European clash, with the Spanish official having last taken charge of Manchester City in April, when they defeated Borussia Dortmund in Germany 2-1.
The 45 year-old has taken charge of four matches so far this season, showing a total of 20 yellow cards, one red card, and awarding one penalty in the process.
Joining Carlos del Cerro Grande at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night will be fellow Spanish match officials Pau Cebrián Devís and Roberto Alonso Fernandez – with the pair taking up the role of assistant referees for the game.
We’ve taken a look on social media to judge how Man City fans have reacted to Carlos del Cerro’s appointment.
