Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have step up their game in trying to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.
Rice is regarded among the best midfielders in the country, with his performances for both West Ham and England having been consistently superb for some time now.
The 22-year-old, whose deal runs out in 2024, was heavily linked with a move away from West Ham during the recently concluded transfer window, but is still at the club.
Earlier last month the Guardian reported that the defending premier league champions were ‘monitoring’ regarding Declan Rice’s future.
Clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea continue to watch the player which the Sun have stated West Ham value at £100 million.
According to a recent report by Roshane Thomas of The Athletic, it’s expected that West Ham will find it incredibly hard to keep a hold of Rice.
Manchester City according to the report have made Declan Rice their top priority to replace Fernandinho who recently made his 250th Premier League appearance.
The Cityzens have been linked with a number of midfielders this summer, and with Fernandinho looking like leaving the Etihad at the end of the season, they do need reinforcements in that area.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
Don’t need him, Rodri is ferna’s long term replacement, then use Lavia in cup games and bring him through slowly

Rodri is better, then we have Lavia in the academy coming through, he not needed.

Great player and I would be happy if he joined, but not sure we need such a high value reinforcement in that area. Rodri has come in to his own now and we have academy players to come through. Depth is OK there. Priority should be striker and left back really.

I honestly think it's bogus. We'll need a replacement for Fernandinho in the squad (for depth) but we have Rodri as the starter. Maybe give Lavia a chance?! If we're gonna spend THAT kind of money again, spend it on a striker like Haaland, Vlahovic or someone like that!

Rodri's performance this season is great, and we have Lavia, also I doubt Ferna will leave anytime soon, he will play for another 1 or 2 season. Haaland should be our main priority
