Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Barcelona are seriously exploring the prospect of prising Raheem Sterling from the Etihad.
The England international, who is still yet to put pen to paper on fresh terms at the Etihad Stadium, has been the subject of some criticism for his City performances over the last year.
Sterling’s future at Manchester City has been up in the air for months now, and suitors wanted to take advantage over the summer.
He is understood to be ‘fighting’ for his future at the Etihad Stadium, where his contract now has just under two years left to run, and talks over an extension have not led to a positive solution.
The 26-year-old was linked with the Blaugrana last transfer window. A swap deal was speculated with Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto among players mentioned.
Despite their current restrictions in the transfer market and La Liga, the Catalan giants are still being linked with a number of high-profile players.
According to Mundo Deportivo as relayed by Sport Witness, Barcelona ‘has the money’ to sign Raheem Sterling in the January transfer window, and there’s confidence a move would be possible.
The report claims it’s now down to Pep Guardiola and Man City to decide whether a sale is what they want.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

I think it’s best he gets till January to prove himself again anyway

Keep him until Summer, sign a striker in January. See if he returns to his old self with a striker (he will), but if he doesn’t bin him in the summer

I mean its kinda perfect cuz sterling gets another chance to prove himself until january and just gets sold if he cant get better

Would be a great move for all parties. Dream. Move for Sterling in a league he would thrive, we already have an abundance of players in his position. Additional funds for a world class ST, in January or the summer. Be sad to see him go if it materialised.

We need to jump on this, while there is still a chance he doesn’t run down his deal and move to a rival…

I used not to, but I now think this is a good move for him if we get a decent figure. He’s just not going to get back to form again, is he ? He looks absolutely down on confidence and has done for two years. I think it’s time for him to reset somewhere else

Can only see this happening if we’re signing a certain striker in jan 👀
