‘Yes’, ‘please make this happen’ – Man City Fans reacts as club working on masterplan to bring in world-class striker

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the Premier League champions are working alongside kit sponsors Puma in an attempt to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland next summer.

City did all they could to land Kane but Tottenham refused to negotiate, and with no suitable alternative they decided to go into the season with Jack Grealish as their only senior addition.

After failing to sign a striker in the summer, Guardiola and sporting director Txiki Begiristain contemplated alternative options like Dusan Vlahovic and Cristiano Ronaldo but with no follow through.

Guardiola’s side were also linked with a swoop for Erling Haaland, but were put off by Dortmund’s £150m price tag as the Bundesliga side wanted to hold onto their prized asset.

The attacker is arguably the hottest property in world football, with the 21-year-old attacker already one of the best finishers in Europe.

There are a host of European clubs interested in Haaland, however, with City among those weighing up whether to activate the €75m release clause in his contract.

According to the Daily Star, Man City kit sponsors Puma want to sign up Erling Haaland as their new poster boy, offering the striker £50M over four years.

The report claims should he sign with Puma, that will play into the hands of Manchester City thanks to their close business ties.

Haaland still has two years left to run on his boot package with Nike, but Puma hope he could switch brands sooner than that given their staggering offer.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions
