Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side have ‘shown interest’ in Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto.
Roberto, whose current contract at Camp Nou is due to expire in the summer of 2022, had a very underwhelming La Liga campaign last season as Barcelona finished third under the management of Ronald Koeman.
Pep Guardiola had reportedly previously wanted Roberto last season but he refused as he wanted to wait and see if he was still in Barça’s plans.
The 29-year-old would prefer to stay but Barcelona has made it clear that he is no longer wanted at Camp Nou. Barcelona as per Barca universal have decided not to go through with the extension for Roberto.
Given his status, the midfielder turned right-back can now negotiate with clubs over a pre-contract agreement for a summer move on a free transfer starting January.
According to Fichajes.net as relayed by Sport witness, Manchester City and Arsenal are the two sides to have come forward to take the Barca man.
The Spanish international has already played under Guardiola’s orders at the Camp Nou in the past, and is aware of the Citizens manager’s playing style.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Chief, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
