Barcelona targeting another Man City midfield ace in addition to Sterling and Torres

Bernardo Silva is also a potential target for Barcelona, with their director of football Mateu Alemany travelling to Manchester for talks with the club.

The Portugal international, who has twice asked Manchester City if he could leave the club, was linked with a move to La Liga in the summer too, but a move could not be engineered.

He has returned to the world-class levels that saw him spearhead Manchester City’s successful 2018-19 title charge.

But the fact that he has made it plain he is homesick for Portugal for the past two summers has led to fears that they could lose the 27-year-old just as he is hitting his peak.

City have reportedly told Bernardo, who admits he is homesick and would jump at the chance of a move back to Portugal, or to Spain, he can leave if an adequate bid comes in — but with the big Spanish clubs in financial turmoil, none has been forthcoming.

According to SPORT, Barcelona director of football Mateu Alemany has travelled to Manchester for talks with City with the aim of negotiating for a signing in the winter transfer window.

The report claims the Blaugranas are eyeing three players at Manchester, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres and Bernardo Silva.

With four years still on the Portugal ace contract, and being hailed as one of the best players on the planet right now after stunning Manchester City performance this season, a move would not come cheap for the the La Liga club.

However the report claims the ‘good relations’ between the two club could ‘pave the way’ for a signing, but the economic demands City have put in place are considered a ‘highly insurmountable wall’.
