Manchester City are prepared to launch a new bid for Harry Kane in the January transfer window if they were given encouragement that a deal was possible.
Pep Guardiola’s side did all they could to land Kane but Tottenham refused to negotiate blocking his dream move to the Etihad.
Levy stood firm on his £150million valuation and with no suitable alternative they decided to go into the season with Jack Grealish as their only senior addition.
However, Since then, he has struggled to recapture his finest form for club and country, and has only scored one Premier League goal in ten appearances, looking out of sorts in the process.
With City still in the market for a striker, rumours around the England captain’s future is showing no sign of going away.
A report by AS last month claimed the premier league champions were unlikely to return for Harry Kane after failing to sign him over the summer.
Now, an insight into Manchester City’s stance on moving for the Totherham Hotspur forward has been provided recently.
According to ESPN, Manchester City are prepared to launch a new bid for Kane in the January transfer window.
However, the report does also add that prior to Conte taking charge, the Italian was given assurances he could expect to include Kane in his plans moving forward.
Kane has a contract at Tottenham until 2024 and City would be willing to test Spurs’ resolve to keep him if they were given encouragement that a deal was possible.
Manchester City are also linked with a swoop for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland as they tried harder to find a replacement for Sergio Aguero.
The attacker is arguably the hottest property in world football, with the 21-year-old attacker already one of the best finishers in Europe, with heavy interest from a number of Europe’s top sides, including United and Real Madrid, expected next summer.
