Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have ‘opened talks’ with Monaco defensive midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni.
The 21-year-old is one of the best young midfielders in the French top-flight and has seen his reputation continue to soar in recent times.
The Cityzens have been linked with a number of midfielders this summer, and with Fernandinho looking like leaving the Etihad at the end of the season, they do need reinforcements in that area.
ESPN last month reported that the defending Premier League champions had joined Liverpool, Manchester United and others in the race to land the promising AS Monaco midfielder.
According to TuttoJuve, via TBR Football, Manchester City are interested in the 21-year-old and have opened talks to enquire about how much he would cost.
The report claims Monaco have informed interested clubs (including Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus and Real Madrid) that their asking price is £42 million.
The young midfielders is best deployed in a holding role, where he uses his positional awareness, strength, stamina and tackling to snuff out opposition attacks.
A sharp passer of the ball, with great close control in tight areas, he’s more than capable of helping his side progress up the field too.
He can provide Guardiola’s side with an option for years to come and is someone that Manchester City can build their midfield around.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
