Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays another update on the club’s pursuit of Erling Haaland, as Pep Guardiola’s side looks for a new No 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer.
The Norwegian has become one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market since making his breakthrough at Red Bull Salzburg a couple of years ago.
Haaland, who remains under contract with the Black and Yellow until 2024, has already netted 13 goals in 10 appearances for Dortmund this term despite injury concerns.
Such remarkable progress in Germany has invariably put the Norwegian goal machine on the radars of many European football clubs, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid among his suitors.
As of now, though, City have been touted as the favourites for Haaland. After all, the striker grew up as a fan of the Manchester club. And given Pep Guardiola’s need for a natural attacker, the Borussia Dortmund forward is a perfect signing for the Premier League giants.
According to an update from Max Bielefeld Via Football Daily, there is a 90% chance Erling Haaland will leave Borussia Dortmund next summer, with Man City and PSG leading the race.
However, the report claims that the German club are working hard to keep Haaland until 2023 by doubling his salary, and the release clause activating then rather than 2022.
In light to the update, many Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.

If we don’t move for him in January, there’s a 90% chance we don’t sign him at all. https://t.co/IkqWRp5oAE

We need a traditional 9, we already have enough wings and Gabriel, Bernardo and Sterling who can play false 9. Haaland must be the player we must sign
