Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is now the ‘favourites’ to sign Fiorentina striker Dušan Vlahovic.
Having missed out on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane earlier this year, the Citizens are expected to spend big on a new centre-forward ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
The Serbian forward, who is who is attracting interest from nearly every top side on the planet, scored 21 goals last season, and has 14 in 16 already this term, further adding to his growing reputation across the continent.
Man City are one of a number of clubs to be credited with an interest in Vlahovic, and according to reports from Italy, the English champions are desperate to win the race for his signature, but face battle with Man United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Juventus.
Pep Guardiola is said to be ‘in love’ with the Serbian forward’s goal-scoring ability and the Premier League giants have begun preliminary talks with Fiorentina, according to La Repubblica.
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, whose information has been translated and relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City are now the favourites to sign Vlahovic from Fiorentina.
The report states that the reigning Premier League champions are gathering more and more information on the Belgrade giant’, as Pep Guardiola continues to look for a number nine.
Vlahovic is believed to have rejected the chance to sign a new deal with his current club, who could be forced into a sale next summer, as the forward’s contract is due to expire in June 2023.
The Daily Mail reports how Fiorentina might let Vlahovic go for around £55m after they have tried to convince him to extend his deal but he is looking to capitalise on his form and take on a new challenge.
It remains to be seen if Fiorentina hold out till the summer for a larger fee. However In light to the update, many Man City fans as usual have reacted – here are some of their responses.
I’ll take him besides Halland tbh. Kane is finished, we should get Vlahovic this winter or Halland in the summer. One of them is a must.

I know most people prefer Haaland over Vlahovic but if we sign him I’m sure he’ll prove people wrong, this kid will fit into our team perfectly
