Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Oleksandr Zinchenko is expecting to sign a new deal in the ‘nearest future’.
The 25-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola this season, and has found first-team minutes difficult to come by since regaining fitness following a calf injury as Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker currently occupy starting positions in Pep Guardiola’s XI.
The Ukraine International has been linked with potential moves to the likes of Newcastle United and Genoa in recent months, with Real Betis the most recent club to show interest.
However, According to Ukrainian football-based platform vZbirna, translated and relayed by Zorya Londonsk, sources close to Zinchenko have stated that there has been ‘no approach’ by the Spanish side.
The report claimed that the defender is ‘expected’ to sign a new deal with Manchester City in the ‘nearest future’, extending his six-year association with the club.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

He’s literally the perfect back up. Every time he plays he puts in a shift, anyone wanting him gone is strange

For me he’s a great squad player to have however it can’t be great for his career to sit on the bench week in week out
