Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the Premier League are looking at Brazil full-back Abner Vinícius.
The full-back spot in particular remains an issue throughout Pep Guardiola’s time at the club. The reigning Premier League champions are still on the hunt for a left-back With Benjamin Mendy currently suspended by the club.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is City’s only recognisable left-back at present, though Pep Guardiola has been able to call upon Joao Cancelo to operate in that role.
Despite the success of Cancelo this season at left-sided full-back, it appears as though Manchester City’s long-term recruitment plans will feature the signing of a new player in that position.
According to the Telegraph, Manchester City are looking at Brazil full-back Abner Vinícius, as they step up their search for a long-term left-back.
The report claims the 21 year-old has been watched by Man City’s scouts in South America while playing for Athletico Paranaense.
Abner, who still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract with Athletico, has won the Campeonato Paranaense and Copa Sudamericana over the last couple of years.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

I love that we’re keeping an eye out for these Brazilian kids that could be much cheaper and be in the team for years like this LB, Endrick and that Flamengo kid. But we should do the same in Argentina, there is a lot of great talent coming up in recent years and for much cheaper https://t.co/uxLKNaH7oA
