Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Erling Haaland has ‘assumed’ that Pep Guardiola’s side will come in with an offer for him in the summer transfer window.

Having missed out on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane earlier this year, the Norwegian goal machine is reportedly next Pep Guardiola’s ‘primary striker target’ as he looks for a new No 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer.

The Borussia Dortmund talisman has become one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market since making his breakthrough at Red Bull Salzburg a couple of years ago.

Haaland, who remains under contract with the Black and Yellow until 2024, has already netted 19 goals in 17 appearances for Dortmund this term despite injury concerns.

Such remarkable progress in Germany has invariably put the Norwegian goal machine on the radars of many European football clubs, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid among his suitors.

According to MARCA journalist Mario Cortegana, as translated and relayed by Sport Witness, Erling Haaland has ‘assumed’ that City will come in with an offer for him at the end of the ongoing season.

However, as per the report, Haaland has not made a definitive decision on his future yet and Mino Raiola is going to ‘open an auction’ for the striker.

Cortegana reiterated the fact that at present, Erling Haaland may have his heart set elsewhere, in spite of being aware of the interest from the Etihad Stadium and the club’s officials.

Haaland is arguably the hottest property in world football at the moment and with City short of options at the point of the attack, it’s no surprise they have been tipped as potential suitors for the Norway international.

In light to the update on Haaland, many Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.
