Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are looking to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku this summer.
The 24-year-old has been in impressive form during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 18 goals and registering 13 assists in 30 appearances in all competitions.
The Frenchman managed seven goals and two assists in six appearances in the group stages of this season’s Champions League, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future.
Nkunku’s form has not gone unnoticed by Pep Guardiola according to Bild via Goal who claim that Man City have entered the race to sign the attacking midfielder.
If they are to land his signature, City may have to battle Arsenal who are believed to be interested in the Frenchman, who is capable of operating in a number of different positions in the final third of the field.
The Bundesliga midfield star still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract at Leipzig, placing the German outfit in a strong position when it comes to any potential negotiations.
