Bournemouth boss Scott Parker has confirmed winger Morgan Rogers has returned to parent club Manchester City.
The winger, signed on loan by Cherries in the summer from the Citizens, has been omitted from the Dorset club’s Championship squad for the second half of the campaign.
Rogers’ time with the Cherries hasn’t gone quite as hoped. The 19-year-old has made 17 appearances across all competitions, with the vast majority of those outings coming off the bench.
Last month, Parker told the Daily Echo the club would “get to a solution” regarding the England under-20 international.
Now, as quoted by Dorset Live, Parker has confirmed that Rogers has returned to parent club Manchester City for training.
It is said that while Rogers has returned to training with the Premier League club, he is still technically on loan with Bournemouth. Here’s what Parker had to say on the situation:
“He’s gone back to Manchester City.
“We have come to an agreement with Manchester City for Morgan. He has gone back there.
“He is now back in training with them, that’s where Morgan is.”
Rogers has scored one goal in 17 games during his loan spell, in a 3-2 defeat at Luton Town last month.
It remains to be seen what City have planned for Rogers, who was signed from West Bromwich in a £8million deal, heading into the 2022/23 campaign.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“Even though he can’t play till next season it’s better he’s with the first team training than at Bournemouth.”

“Lets hope he is staying focused and training really hard and possibly have an excellent pre-season which gives him another opportunity at a Championship loan next season.”
