‘He’s 100% correct’, ‘thought he didn’t watch our matches’ – Many fans react as Jurgen Klopp Makes Claim on Man City Striker Situation

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has addressed suggestions Manchester City are short of firepower as the Premier League title race intensifies.

Liverpool have closed the gap with Premier League leaders to a single point after defeating Arsenal 2-0 at Emirates Stadium, after City stuttered on Monday when they were held to a goalless draw at Crystal Palace.

Whenever things go against Pep Guardiola, the usual narrative tends to be that he’s lining up without a recognised centre-forward, and Klopp isn’t happy with the talk.

“I don’t like these discussions at all, to be honest. Talking about City as if they would miss a striker, that’s a joke,” the 54-year-old said when asked about the comparative attacking options of the two title contenders.

The way they played against Crystal Palace they had like five or six clear-cut chances, nothing to do with not having a striker. You’re telling me De Bruyne hit the crossbar because there was no striker?”

These Klopp’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“I respect his opinion, but I hope he’s wrong because if Haaland or Alvarez were in Bernardo’s position they would have scored at least once if not multiple times.”

“We missed like 4/5 sitters and if we had a striker those would’ve been in the back of the net so what’s he talking about…..”

“I respect Jürgen Klopp, Great Manager seriously. People Talking about Pep bottling it, first of all Man City is top of the league and in football there are times where you somehow drop points or can’t score , has nothing to do with bottling.”

“He’s 100% correct. We had loads of chances but couldn’t find the back of the net. He also understands that if you add a striker we essentially lose a midfield player, which restricts overloads and ball possession and retention, which is so much of what we do..”

“He’s kind of right but it also literally justifies us wanting/needing a striker.”

“He’s kind of right. even with the right striker, all chances won’t fall to him..”
