‘OMG’, ‘It’s done’, ‘tears in my eyes’ – Erling Haaland claim has many Man City fans excited

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims a deal is now in place for the club to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The 21-year-old striker is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer due to a £62million release clause, and interest is high from big clubs across Europe.

Having missed out on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane earlier this year, the Norwegian goal machine is reportedly next Pep Guardiola’s ‘primary striker target’ as he looks for a new No 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer.

The Premier League champions are set to go head-to-head with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG and Bayern Munich in the chase for Erling Haaland at the end of the season.

In an exclusive report in the Daily Mail by top Manchester City journalist Jack Gaughan, the Premier League champions have a deal in place to sign the prodigious Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

As per the report, additional fees – including those to be paid towards the player’s representatives – and a signing-on bonus will take the total outlay for a deal by Manchester City towards the £100 million mark.

It is further reported that Sources in Germany close to the move now expect the striker to choose a move to the Etihad Stadium, with personal terms having been discussed and the framework for a transfer ready to be signed off by the club’s officials.

Although they are keen to not break their existing wage structure, a deal would be sanctioned to sit the striker alongside Kevin De Bruyne as the club’s highest earner.

It remains to be seen whether City are able to follow through with their deal or if Haaland will have a change of heart between now and the end of the season.

The Norwegian striker is undeniably elite, and he’s still just 21, which suggests that goals are almost guaranteed for the next decade and beyond for the club who manages to sign him.
