La Liga heavyweights Barcelona are reportedly weighing up the prospect of signing Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus.
It is no secret that Barcelona are in the market for a new striker in the summer despite the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal in the winter and his positive impact.
Jesus signed for City in 2017 and has made 228 appearances for the club. During that time the Brazilian has scored 89 goals and added 45 assists.
The 25-year-old forward hasn’t cemented his place in the Man City team this season, with Pep Guardiola often opting for a false nine rather than an out and out striker. He has struggled this season, scoring just three goals.
As a result, the Brazilian continues to be linked with a summer move away from the Etihad Stadium and it appears as though Barcelona have emerged as contenders for his signature.
According to Spanish publication Marca, Gabriel Jesus is the subject of interest from Barcelona over a possible move in the summer transfer window.
Lewandowski and Haaland are the ideal targets for Barcelona, but the price tag may deter the Spanish club. They list Jesus as a cheaper alternative, who would reportedly cost in the region of €30m.
City spent a slightly higher sum to sign him, but may be best off taking what they can get as opposed to potentially losing him for nothing in 2023.
