Gavin Bazunu found himself trending on Twitter today following Zack Steffen’s performance for Manchester City during their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Liverpool.
The City goalkeeper was guilty of an absolute howler on Saturday afternoon as he dawdled with the ball on his own goal-line before Sadio Mane charged him down and scored for Liverpool.
Man City made an atrocious start to Saturday’s FA Cup semifinal against Liverpool. Konate opened the scoring in the 9th minute while Zack Steffan made a complete mess of a back pass and conceded one of the worst goals you’ll ever see to Sadio Mane.
Steffen was then criticised for allowing Mane to score with a volley that beat him at his near post – handing Jurgen Klopp’s side a 3-0 lead at half-time.
City made a fight of it in the second half as they scored two unanswered goals to set up a nervy end to the game.
Steffen did well to deny Firmino in the dying seconds – but by that stage, Cityzens supporters on Twitter had already made their minds up.
They wanted Bazunu back at the Ethihad to replace the American.
