Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Arsenal believe a deal for Gabriel Jesus can be completed, with the forward expected to seek a move.

The Gunners are keen to bolster their striker options this summer, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both into the final three months of their respective contracts with the club.

Jesus, who starred in City’s 5-1 win against Watford on Saturday, is among the shortlisted profiles who could arrive in north London at the end of the current campaign.

There has been increasing speculation over the past week about Jesus’ future at City — with the Brazilian reportedly wanting to leave to get a regular starting berth elsewhere.

When asked by The Guardian this weekend on whether he will stay at City, Jesus said: “It’s not time to think about this.

“You expect me to say this, but it’s true. Now is the best moment of the season. I want to enjoy, to keep focused on my team.”

According to Matt Barlow of Daily Mail, optimism is mounting at the Emirates that they can bring him to North London.

Jesus is known to boast good relations with Arteta, with the pair working together for almost three years at City when the Spaniard was Guardiola’s No2.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the fans, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on the speculation.

“City really want to sell Jesus and leave Sterling. Wow. This guy is very vital with the way City presses the ball. Let’s see how that plays out in the end. All the best Gabby.”

“If HE wants to leave at the end of the season then all good, but we will regret it if we don’t approach him to renew.”

“With haaland coming in, don’t blame him at all. City will lose a great servant for the club, but it’s best for his career honestly. Deserves to start and Arteta would be good for him.”

“I think this can be a good move for all parties involved. Good for City if we get decent money, good for Arsenal they’re getting an “okay” player for their budget, good for Jesus because he can get more gametime and probably take his game to a more consistent level.”
