Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are studying Riyad Mahrez‘s situation at the Etihad.
Mahrez has been one of the most enigmatic attackers in the Premier League over the past half a dozen years. The Algeria star first rose to prominence when he delivered an unfathomable Premier League title for Leicester City in the 2015/16 season. Since joining Manchester City in July 2018, he has taken his game up a notch.
The 31-year-old has been in ‘sparkling’ form for Manchester City this season and is their leading goalscorer with 23 goals in 41 matches in all competitions.
However, with less than 18 months left on the Algerian’s existing deal at the Etihad Stadium, reports have claimed that a number of elite European clubs are monitoring Mahrez’s contract situation in Manchester ahead of a potential departure in the summer.
According to French football journalist Nabil Djellit, Real Madrid and PSG are ‘seriously studying’ Riyad Mahrez’s situation at Manchester City.
The report states that the €40m-rated star could be a formidable replacement for 33-year-old Angel Di Maria, whose contract in the French capital is running down.
However, they suggested that PSG are already a touch reluctant to sign another player in his 30s. They already have Lionel Messi and Neymar in that bracket and are keen to sign younger players.
In reaction to the reports shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

“I don’t think Mahrez wanna leave but i think this deal will be good for everybody involved. Mahrez getting a new experience at a new club where he’ll be more nailed to play, us getting good money for him and replacing him with someone younger and Madrid getting a world class winger.”
