Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Arsenal are considering a move for Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Arsenal have been linked with three City players – Ilkay Gundogan, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus – ahead of the summer transfer window. The trio are all out of contract in 2023.
A fourth player has been added to the mix, with Daily Mail journalist Jack Gaughan claiming that the Gunners are ‘considering a move’ for Zinchenko.
Gaughan adds that Mikel Arteta views Zinchenko primarily as an asset to bolster Arsenal’s midfield, who could be utilised at left back when required.
He insists however that it remains to be seen whether the London club turn their interest and consideration into a formal bid, and whether the player himself wants to move south or away from the Etihad Stadium this summer.
Zinchenko has been with City for nearly six years now having joined shortly after Guardiola was appointed as manager in the summer of 2016. Following an initial season on loan at PSV Eindhoven, he has been used sparingly by his boss.
The 25-year-old has shown his talent in that time, but has fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola this season, and has found first-team minutes difficult to come by as Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker currently occupy starting positions in Pep Guardiola’s XI.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“If we’re going for Cinderella, this makes sense. But it’s just saying Arsenal are interested not that we want to sell. Tranquilo.”

“No way. This guy is literally the most humble individual on the team, and that’s saying something when your teammates include Fernandinho, Gundogan, Stones, and Bernado..”
