Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are still interested in AC Milan forward, Rafael Leão.
The 22-year-old winger has transformed into a world-class wide attacker since joining AC Milan from Lille in August 2019. While he was not consistent, to begin with, he has come leaps and bounds in the last two seasons, establishing himself as the talisman for the Rossoneri.
The Portuguese international was particularly delightful in the 2021/22 season, amassing 11 goals and ten assists in 34 Serie A outings while winning the MVP award after guiding Milan to the title.
Leao’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, with some of the most high profile clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, setting their sights on him.
The former Lille star is currently under contract with Milan until June 2024 and receives €1.5m net per season, with Milan reportedly to have offer Leao a new contract until June 2026 with a net wage of €4.5m per year plus bonuses.
According to journalist and transfer expert, Nicolo Schira, Manchester City are still interested in Rafa Leao as a possible replacement of Raheem Sterling.
Nicolo Schira states that Pep Guardiola loves the portuguese forward, who has a release clause by 150M.
