Manchester City have been heavily linked with signing Brighton defender Marc Cucurella this summer.
Reports last week claimed that Cucurella, who was named Albion’s Player of the Season after making 34 Premier League appearances, had ‘agreed personal terms’ with the Citizens.
Football Insider insisted that Cucurella wants to ‘quit’ Brighton this summer with negotiations between Man City and the Seagulls at an ‘advanced stage’.
However, according to journalist Andy Naylor from The Athletic, the reports are completely false, and no bid has been submitted by Manchester City.
Naylor wrote on Twitter: “I’m aware of lots of stuff in the past week on Marc Cucurella/Man City. He’s agreed terms, they’ve made a bid etc. As previously stated, it will require an irresistible offer. At this moment in time, it’s all crap. No bids, nothing agreed, no desire to sell.”

In reaction to this Andy Naylor’s claims, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions. Here’s is a selection of what some had to say on Twitter:
“He’s right. This deal is far from done and not 100% under any circumstances”

“Your right we haven’t made an official bid and Brighton don’t want to sell unless a crazy price. But we have agreed terms with Cucurella so if he stays it’s another Kane”

“That’s not true. It’s not all crap. City won’t put in an official bid until they are sure it will be accepted. Both clubs are working towards structuring a bid acceptable to both parties. On the player side, it is practically done..”

“Eh I don’t believe this personally. ”

“Player seems willing to push the move, force if it needs to, unless you haven’t seen the social media activity regarding Cucurella.”

“Well we’re clear sorting out the Phillips deal and gabby to arsenal so no big surprise really .”
