After five years in the Premier League he feels like his cycle has finished in England. The 27-year-old Portuguese international would like to leave City in the current summer transfer window for personal reasons, with Barca his dream club.
The Portuguese midfielder is a key target for Barcelona, with manager Xavi said to be ‘obsessed’ with the 27-year-old.
The newspaper explains that Pep Guardiola does not want to lose an important asset this summer, and even though Silva would be happy to leave Manchester City for the Catalan side, the club have made it clear he won’t leave on the cheap.
Despite claims that Man City could register an interest in Frenkie De Jong, as per the report, the Premier League champions are also not interested in any Barcelona players to bring the price down.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“That price tag has to be a joke! Nothing less than £100m and even that is not enough imo, he has 3 years left on his contract.”
“That’s too cheap”
“Should be twice the price.”
“€80m is cheap, put €120m + add ons.”
“He’s worth more than that.”
“Should up the price to 100 mill.”
“130m at least for Silva, no playing around , we can’t keep twerking for Barca ffs, f**king sick of it, Garcia on a free, Aguero on a free, Torres fee in 4 installments, enough of that crap.”
“Has to be atleast £100 mil. It’s time to put our foot down when it comes to situations like this.”
“Look at this Barca propaganda machine lowering the fee each day they report.”
