Jesus is open to leaving the Etihad this summer as he looks to become the focal point in a team, having largely played as a back-up striker at Man City.
According to Mike Keegan For Daily Mail, Arsenal are expected to seal a £50million deal for number one target Gabriel Jesus in the next seven to 10 days.
As per the report, the Gunners and Manchester City are closing in on an agreement that would see the 25-year-old striker head to north London.
Mike Keegan went ahead to claim there is now a confidence that completion is close for the Brazilian, who has been Arsenal’s priority target.
Jesus’ representatives flew to England over the last few days to advance the move, though the player himself is currently on holiday with his partner and their new baby in Portugal.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“We’re winning the net spend trophy!!!!.”
“Sad to see him go but we’ve actually improved in selling. Getting £50m for a player with 1 left on his contract.”
“No it should be £60m”
“Are you taking the piss? This is a great deal”
“50 million is good enough let’s be real”
“Gonna miss him but this means Cucurella will soon be done as well!”
“Feels weird us actually selling good young first team players.”
“Very sad, but getting Haaland and Phillips for about the same price as Ferran/Jesus went for is incredible.”
