Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Chelsea are among the clubs evaluating the possibility of launching a swoop for Raheem Sterling Raheem Sterling.
The England winger is set to enter the final year of his contract and, having lost his regular starting position, has been linked with a move this summer with Arsenal and Tottenham, Real Madrid touted as potential destinations.
The attacker’s current contract at the Etihad expires in 2023, meaning he could begin negotiations about a potential free move away from City in just nine months’ time. He is either expected to renew his deal or to leave in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea’s new owners are prepared to back boss Thomas Tuchel strongly in the upcoming transfer market and they are interested in bringing Sterling to Stamford Bridge.
According to Matt Law via the Telegraph, Chelsea are the Premier League club displaying the greatest interest in Raheem Sterling so far.
Matt Law adds that an exit from the Etihad is increasingly likely, with one-year remaining on his contract. However, Chelsea are not the only side interested, as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also said to be monitoring the situation.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
