‘Wouldn’t mind this too much’, ‘Good for his development’ – Many Man City fans react to the Club’s stance on Liam Delap

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Liam Delap is expected to leave on loan this summer.

The 19-year-old striker, son of Stoke City legend and current first team coach Rory Delap, has been tipped for great things as he has shown glimpses of his potential in the junior ranks at Manchester City.

Contracted until 2026, Delap is a big prize in a devastatingly good City youth side and Guardiola is already aware of just how talented the youngster is.

Liam Delap for me, for the club, is so important for the future,” Guardiola stated earlier this season. “At the end of last season, we said we had to extend the contract.

However, Guardiola has spent big money to sign Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, it could open the door for Delap to go and find a temporary home elsewhere in the Premier League as game time now might be more difficult to come by.

According to The Athletic‘s Sam Lee, Liam Delap is expected to leave Manchester City on loan this summer to get his first regular taste of senior football.

The report states that Premier League managers are all aware of Delap Jr, with Southampton linked strongest, and it remains to be seen if Guardiola would be attracted by the romance of letting him have a spell in the Potteries.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
