Arsenal have agreed a £30m deal with Manchester City to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko, which includes £2m in add-ons.
The Gunners are looking to improve their midfield options and Zinchenko wants to play in his more natural position, having largely featured as a left back at the Etihad.
The Ukraine international, 25, who is currently on a pre-season tour in the US with the Premier League champions, is expected to fly back to England in the coming days to complete the move.
Zinchenko was one of Pep Guardiola’s first signings as City coach in 2016. The Ukraine international has been a bit-part player for Man City over the past few seasons as he played 76 times in the league.
He has gone on to win four league titles, an FA Cup and four League Cups, making 128 appearances in all competitions.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Arsenal and Man City have now come to a ‘full agreement’ over the transfer.
The player has agreed personal terms and he is set to undergo his medical later this week.
Arsenal have batted off a number of other sides to move into pole position for Zinchenko, with the likes of Juventus, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.
He would be the second player to switch from City to the Emirates this summer after striker Gabriel Jesus moved for £45m earlier this month.
Romano has also revealed that Man City are now ready to put in an ‘official bid’ for Brighton’s Marc Cucurella.
This will be ‘as soon as possible’ as the Spaniard ‘has always been Pep Guardiola’s top target’ at left-back.
