Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Barcelona are willing to pay only €60m for Bernardo Silva, which is €40m apart from the club’s valuation for the midfielder.
The 27-year-old has become a vital player in Pep Guardiola’s system over the last few years. Last season the Portuguese star really kicked on, but it now appears he’s looking for a move away from Manchester City.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT on Sunday, Bernardo Silva has made it clear to his agent Jorge Mendes that he wants to join Barcelona and made his mind made up on leaving England some time ago.
However, Silva is currently under contract with City until 2025 and manager Pep Guardiola is keen to keep the midfielder but won’t want to force him to stay at the club.
As per the report, a move for Silva could depend on whether the club is able to raise funds from the potential sale of De Jong.
The Spanish outlet claims City have slapped a €100m (£86m) price tag on Silva, while Barcelona are hoping to reduce that asking price by as much as €40m (£34.4m).
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
