‘It’s not true’ – Pep Guardiola shuts down sensational Neymar swap talk

Pep Guardiola has poured cold water on suggestions that Neymar was offered to Manchester City as part of an exciting swap deal this summer.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward is facing an uncertain future with the French giants, leading to speculation in Le Parisien that he could be on the move this summer.

Speculation around Neymar’s future in the French capital has been rife, but the Brazilian will not be turning up at The Etihad. It would have been one of the transfer deals of the summer had Guardiola been asked about a swap for Bernardo Silva.

But the City boss was quick to deny their validity when questioned about them during Man City’s tour of the US.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Guardiola was asked about the club’s reported interest in the Brazilian forward; shutting down any talk that his side will look to bring him in during the summer transfer window.

“I’m sorry but it’s not true,” the Spaniard said (quotes via the Mirror). “The information is not right.

“Neymar is an incredible player and the info I have is that he’s an incredibly nice guy. But it’s not right.

“Every summer Manchester City are going to buy 150 players!”

These Guardiola’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“So what he’s saying is if they did offer him to us he would take him???.”

“These rumours were always complete utter garbage …whatever you feel about Neymar as a player ..If there was a list of 100 players you would call a Pep signing he wouldn’t be on that list.”
