‘No way’, ‘Absolute joke if true’ – Many fans react as report claims Man City & Barca have agree ‘ridiculous’ fee for Bernardo Silva

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have reached an agreement over the transfer fees for Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva.

The Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona this summer. However, given the situation surrounding the registration of new players as well as the reluctance of Frenkie de Jong to leave, a move had looked difficult.

But it seems like the Blaugrana have made some major progress in their pursuit of the 27-year-old midfielder.

As per Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, the two clubs have now agreed on a price for the midfielder, believed to be around €50-€55m (£42m-£46.5m).

It comes as a surprise, considering that reports earlier had indicated that the Premier League champions would want around €100 million for their gun midfielder, but seem to have settled for much lesser.

The journalist had claimed on Monday that Silva had already started looking for a house in Barcelona, indicating that a move might be close to completion.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“I’m worried about him leaving this summer, but this is nonsense. No way city will let one of their best players go for marginally more than they sold Jesus, or Sterling for.”
