Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Atletico Madrid’s Renan Lodi is one of several options on the Club left-back shortlist.
The Citizens are in the market for a new first-team left-back after allowing Oleksandr Zinchenko to join up with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
The Premier League missed out on signing Marc Cucurella from Brighton and Hove Albion after rivals Chelsea swooped in and sealed a deal, and consequently, are now targeting full-back alternatives.
Pep Guardiola’s side currently only have one recognised first-team left back in the squad in Joao Cancelo, and are keen to bolster that area before the close of the transfer window.
The Premier League champions are closing in on a deal to sign Sergio Gomez, however, the 21-year-old is expected to head straight back out on loan.
According to Mike McGrath of The Daily Telegraph, the Premier League champions have drawn up a shortlist in desperate bid to solve problem left-back position.
Mike McGrath claims Atletico Madrid’s Renan Lodi is one of several options on Man City’s left-back shortlist.
A separate report from Matteo Moretto claims Pep Guardiola ‘loves’ Atletico Madrid’s Renan Lodi, but there is no official offer from #ManCity yet. The player has a release clause of €120M.
Other names under consideration/tracked as per the report are Raphael Guerreiro (Borussia Dortmund), Borna Sosa (Stuttgart), Rayan Ait-Nouri (Wolves).
The report of the club’s interest in Renan Lodi was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
